Daily Reading With Minor Commentary

Today was the first day in a long time that I felt almost productive in a spiritual sense. In other words, I didn’t just feel completely backslidden and abandoned by God. So that is a good thing! I think some progress is being made!

Wow! Wormwood had a lot to say again today.

“I have always found that the trough periods of the human undulation (see previous post) provide excellent opportunity for all sensual temptations, particularly those of sex. This may surprise you, because, of course, there is more physical energy, and therefore more potential appetite, at the peak periods; but you must remember that the powers of resistance are then also at their highest. The health and spirits which you want to use in producing lust can also, alas, be very easily used for work or play or though or innocuous merriment. The attack has a much better chance of success when the man’s whole inner world is drab and cold and empty.”

Please be encouraged by Oswald Chambers today: (I sure as was!!)

Title: Individual Discouragement and Personal Enlargement
“[Moses] was not the right man for the work until he had learned communion with God…. Our individuality is to be rendered incandescent by a personal relationship to God. We fix on the individual aspect of things; we have the vision – “This is what God wants me to do;” but we have not got into God’s stride. If you are going through a time of discouragement, there is a big personal enlargement ahead.” !!!!

I will add some personal commentary to this.
This is why God will stubbornly refuse to tell us what He wants us to do at the times at which we think we need that “direction” the most. Those times where we are at the end of our wits because we do not know what He wants us to do are the exact times where God seems to suddenly come up either deaf or mute. He will NOT tell us what to do next. Why? His desire is not what we do or to watch us run off and try to generate our spirituality through us doing something – NO! His desire is true intimacy with Him. He wants us to KNOW Him, not just work for Him. He is not our boss – He is our Abba Father! So what do we do? HA! Nothing. Push into Him! (This is driving me up the freaking wall even writing this – WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!?!?!)
