PENUEL

Penuel is a very real place that we all reach with God. If you have not reached it yet, you will sometime. It is a place where we come and, in a very real way, wrestle with God. We take everything that we have and who we are and we place it on the table in front of God and then we hash it out. Things like the pain of our past, hidden sin, character habits, thought-patterns, our identity, how our father treated us, the way we think about God, the way that we view ourselves, the way we treat our mothers are all brought out into the open before God. This is a very scary place. It can be a violent place. One thing about this place, is that you will be there for a while. It is not the kind of thing that gets resolved over a service or even a weekend. You may be there for a while. But if you hang on and keep fighting, you will find out who you are, who God is and what this life is all about.
